Reel Works combines peerless arts education with workforce development, guiding young Brooklynites from first film to first job in the media industry. We provide free filmmaking workshops in community schools across Brooklyn, from Canarsie to Crown Heights. We match high school students 1:1 with professional filmmaker-mentors to tell their stories and have their voices heard in our state-of-the-art media lab in Gowanus.  

And we partner with major studios and film unions to provide workforce training and paid internships to help young people launch their careers in film and television. 

Reel Works opens doors, fuels creativity, and fosters a more inclusive media industry where every voice matters. With your support, 2025 will be our biggest year yet. We’re doubling our space, expanding partnerships, and creating more pathways for Brooklynites to thrive in media and beyond.
