Center for NuLeadership on Human Justice and Healing

A nonprofit organization

Every person carries a story — and the most powerful stories aren’t found, they’re grown.

They're grown when people have space to reflect, find purpose, and imagine new possibilities.

At the Center for NuLeadership on Human Justice & Healing, we create these conditions — from Brooklyn to our 20-acre People's Land in Ithaca.  Places where stories root, rise, and blossom into community, leadership, and safety.

Stories move people.

People make policy.

Policy directs resources.

Resources write the next chapter of our future.

Your gift strengthens the three fields all of our futures depend on: community-centered housing, sustainable foodways, and land sovereignty.

The first $5,000 will be matched by Brooklyn.org.

Plant the future with us.

With gratitude, love, and fierce hope,

The Center for NuLeadership on Human Justice & Healing

Seeds of Safety: The Legacy House (Brooklyn)

Right now, four of our village members call the Legacy House home — a place of stability for people rebuilding their lives in a city that often feels impossible to navigate without family, guidance, or safety.

But the house needs essential repairs: structural fixes, safety upgrades, and resources to turn it into a true space of healing.

With your support, we can expand housing to six people — giving more of our community the soil they need to rest, recover, and rebuild their stories.

Seeds of Nourishment: Feeding Families with Care & Dignity

This winter, no one in our community will go hungry. When the government delayed and withheld SNAP benefits with no notice, we mobilized—fast.

In the first week of November, we fed 12 families. We will keep going: buying groceries, storing them at our community house in East New York, and employing our village members to shop, pack, and deliver food with love, care, and dignity.
Your gift keeps these lifelines alive — because nourishing a family is how stories survive long enough to grow.

Seeds of Sovereignty: The People’s Land (Ithaca)

On our 20-acres of People's Land,  “From the Hood to the Woods” becomes real - we learn eco-building, cultural connection, land stewardship, and cooperative living.

To deepen this work, we need infrastructure that matches our vision:

  • A tractor for land grading and food production

  • A 15-passenger van to transport community members

  • A work truck for tools, materials, and harvests

This is how we move from food crisis to food sovereignty — by investing in the tools that let us care for land and people on our own terms.

Help our community maintain access to all that we do - let's keep alive our social justice work and achievements from the past 20 YEARS!
