As we look around our beloved borough, we’ve made immense progress in supporting our neighbors.  And yet, there is still tremendous need throughout our community.

We see the person struggling with mental illness. We see the long lines at food pantries across our borough. We see the single parent heading to their second job to keep up with the cost of loving. All around Brooklyn, we see neighbors in need.

But we hope you also see the helpers. We hope you see CHiPS providing a mother and her children with a warm meal. We hope you see South Brooklyn Sanctuary giving immigrants the legal support they need. We hope you see The B.R.O. Experience Foundation mentoring and developing young Black men.

Who We Are

With one donation to Brooklyn Community Foundation's Community Fund you can support hundreds of high impact, local nonprofits working for a fair and just Brooklyn.

The Community Fund is a flexible source of support for the Foundation’s strategic initiatives, grantmaking, and leadership activities—including our #BrooklynGives initiative. It enables the Foundation to effectively respond to the needs of Brooklyn over time, in partnership with dedicated donors and stakeholders on the frontlines of social change.

Brooklyn Community Foundation is the first and only public foundation solely dedicated to Brooklyn’s charitable community, working in partnership with generous donors and community leaders to bolster vital nonprofits, strengthen neighborhoods, and increase opportunities for youth.

Since our founding in 2009, the Foundation has provided over $40 million in grants to more than 300 nonprofits throughout the borough.
