This year marks the 10th anniversary of the Brooklyn Org Spark Prize, a milestone celebrating a decade of investing in outstanding Brooklyn organizations advancing racial justice and addressing critical challenges in our communities. The Prize is named for and informed by our mission to spark change for a fair and just Brooklyn, and honors outstanding organizations championing community-led change in the borough.
Recently, we announced the 20 nonprofit finalists for the 2027 Brooklyn Org Spark Prize. To celebrate this special year, we're doubling our matching support, with each finalist eligible to receive up to $10,000 in matching funds raised through the Brooklyn Gives donation window, October 8th - December 31st.
To help our finalists reach their match, you can give directly to an individual organization through its Brooklyn Gives page, or donate through this page to support all 20 finalists equally. Funds will be evenly distributed among the finalists after the campaign closes.
Finalists were selected by the Brooklyn Org Spark Prize Committee - a distinguished group of local leaders and philanthropists - and demonstrate a strong record of service to Brooklyn communities and alignment with the Prize’s core values: Born in Brooklyn, Commitment to Equity, and Vision for the Future.
