MISSION

Yaa Samar! Dance Theatre (YSDT) creates invigorating performance and education programs that expand access to - and promote understanding through - the arts.

VISION

YSDT believes art should be liberating, transformative, and accessible to all. The company operates out of the United States and Arab World and is committed to uniting diverse artists and audiences in the creative process.

ACCESS

We are guided by our value of access and anti-racism to cultivate an intentional, brave, creative space that prioritizes artists and their communities. We are committed to honoring and addressing the distinctive social and political contexts, including geographic, legal, or financial obstacles that inhibit or impact participation.

We invite diverse perspectives, bodies, and backgrounds into the creative process, onto the stage, and into the audience. We believe that this diversity enhances the quality of our work and the caliber of our artistic programs.

Our work validates the individual through empowered choice-making in the creative process while modeling the power of collective action by honoring diverse perspectives and a multiplicity of bodies, abilities, and experiences.
