This Giving Tuesday, The Campaign Against Hunger (TCAH) invites you to be part of an extraordinary journey to uplift communities, support families, and empower youth. Together, we can make a lasting impact, building on a year of remarkable achievements that highlight the strength of our shared mission.

  • Empowering Youth
This year, we celebrated our Youth Graduation with over 60 young leaders taking the stage, cheered on by proud parents and loved ones. This milestone represents more than individual achievement—it symbolizes the power of community investment in our future.

  • Engaging Communities
Our Children’s Harvest Festivals in Brooklyn and Queens reached new heights, with nearly 1,500 attendees across both events. From laughter to learning, these gatherings brought together families from diverse backgrounds, showing the true essence of community.

  • Innovating for Change
This year we launched our E-market that brings farm-fresh produce directly to New Yorkers at an affordable price, while our Fresh Vibes Market continued to sell locally-grown, low-cost fresh fruits and veggies to low-income families in all five boroughs. These initiatives support sustainable access to fresh food, paving the way for healthier communities.

  • Youth Voices Leading the Way
The Queens Voices of Change Youth Conference, which featured discussions on leadership and resilience, inspired 150 participants and proved the potential of our youth to drive positive change.

  • Feeding Families in Need
This Thanksgiving, we committed to serving nearly 1,000 families in Brooklyn and another 700 in Queens. With your support, we delivered more than meals—we delivered hope.

Your contribution can help us do even more. Every dollar helps TCAH expand programs, reach underserved families, and empower individuals to overcome barriers to success. Together, let’s continue building stronger, healthier, and more connected communities.

Who We Are

The Campaign Against Hunger was founded in 1998 with the mission to empower its neighbors to lead healthier, more productive and self-sufficient lives by increasing their access to nutritious food and related resources. We fight poverty using a multi-tiered approach that incorporates access to wholesome food, key social services and nutrition education. Every month, TCAH serves approximately 30,000 food insecure individuals through our Client-choice food pantry and mobile units. Annually, we grow over 20,000 pounds of fresh produce on two youth-led urban farms funneled into food deserts across the city so that EVERYONE can enjoy nutrient-dense, locally grown produce furthering our mission to impact communities via healthy eating. As the first supermarket-style emergency feeding program in Brooklyn, we have served as a replicable model to other traditional pantries who have now converted their pantries to client-choice. In 2009, we were the first CBO to establish a farm-to-pantry distribution loop to supplement the fresh produce provided by the food pantry and have since assisted and motivated others to do likewise. All of our efforts converge around assisting our neighbors, closing the hunger gap and preparing families to become independent.
